Out of the Fire – The Burned Book Monologues

Back to Events

Yes, books are dangerous. They should be dangerous–they contain ideas.”–Pete Hautman

The Forward Theatre Company of Madison, Wisconsin first performed this series of monologues written mostly by those in the area on the subject of banned books from various points of view. Banned books included range from “James and the Giant Peach” to “Lady Chatterley’s Lover”. Permission has been given for ISU students to include their monologues on the subject as well. This production opens on the Friday of National Banned Books Week.
