The Goldfinch Room featuring Ryne Doughty and Royce Johns

Back to Events

Ryne Doughty is a Folk/Americana singer-songwriter out of Des Moines, IA, whose music is deeply rooted in real life stories of love, loss, work, and play. His stripped down, earthy sound is directly influenced by the small, rural town where he was born and raised. The hard-working, simple living, and friendly way of life of the Midwest shines through his music that is understated yet complex and rich with beauty and realness.

Royce Johns shares that he is a husband, father, guitar picker, and singer/songwriter.  He has been pickin’ and grinnin’ for the last decade, and have been fortunate enough to work with some talented singers, songwriters, and musicians.  He has had the opportunity to open for some great acts in the industry including Sammy Kershaw, Deana Carter, Sawyer Brown,  Collin Raye, Aaron Tippin, Eric Paslay, The Cadillac Three, Trick Pony, Walker McGuire, and Sunny Sweeney. “I feel like I’ve learned a lifetime of lessons in the last decade since starting my musical journey, but the further down the road I get, I feel like I’m only getting started,” says Johns.  “With all the love and support my home state of Iowa has shown me, It makes me never want to leave. And I don’t think I ever could. No matter where this journey takes me, I’ll always have a 515 area code.”

Patrons can reserve a table that seats up to four for $40, and a limited number of general admission tickets will be available for $15. Concessions will be available as well.

The Goldfinch Room series is made possible with the support of performance underwriters Bonnie and David Orth and Gwenna and Doug Jacobson.
