Jacob Harrison leads the 80-member ISU Symphony Orchestra in a narrated program showcasing the various instrument families and exploring basic music concepts.

The concert features a special preview performance of Michael-Thomas Foumai’s Fullmetal, commissioned by the Iowa State Symphony to be officially premiered at their concert Friday, February 19. The work uses the colorful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastic themes found in Japanese anime as its inspiration.

Ottorino Respighi’s Vetrate di Chiesa (Church Windows) completes the program.

An instrument petting zoo following the performance is a chance to see and hear the unique sounds of individual instruments up close.
