Moscow Festival Ballet – Giselle

Back to Events

The Russian-based collective Moscow Festival Ballet performing Giselle brings an evening of dance, drama, and beauty to the stage of Stephens Auditorium. A peasant girl named Giselle dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is betrothed to another. A group of supernatural women, who dance men to death, summon Giselle from her grave. They target her lover for death, but Giselle’s great love frees him from their grasp. The Moscow Festival Ballet merges the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies.

This performance is made possible, in part, by a generous gift from John and Susan Shierholz.
