The Ames International Orchestra Festival Association continues its proud tradition of bringing you major symphony orchestras from around the globe. Tuesday, March 7, we’ll hear the National Symphony of Ukraine, direct from Kiev, under the baton of Maestro Theodore Kuchar with violin soloist Dima Tkachenko.
Formed by the Council of Ministers of Ukraine in November of 1918, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine is considered to be one of the finest symphony orchestras in Eastern Europe. Under Maestro Kuchar’s direction, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine became the most frequently recorded orchestra of the former Soviet Union and has received multiple awards.
