Estonian National Symphony

Back to Events

Stephens Auditorium and the Ames International Orchestra Foundation (AIOFA) proudly welcome back the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ENSO). Founded as a small radio orchestra in 1926, ENSO has since grown to 100 musicians performing more than 60 concerts each year with a repertoire ranging from baroque music to premieres of contemporary works. They enjoy increasing acclaim for their Grammy award-winning recordings and festival appearances in Scandinavia, Europe and the former Soviet Union.

ENSO’s program will include (subject to change):

Fratres                                                         Arvo Pärt

Violin Concerto in E Minor, op. 64           Felix Mendelssohn

Symphony No. 7 in D Minor, op. 70         Antonín Dvořák

Continually impressed by the quality and variety of performances scheduled by Stephens. This was one of the best. Excellent orchestra; outstanding performance! Thank you! Quote from 2013  ENSO (courtesy of Survey Monkey):
