The Tony Award-winning Broadway Musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee features four on-stage spellers each night who are recruited from a group of willing volunteers from the audience.  The willing contestants are chosen through a careful vetting process, utilizing pre-show lobby interviews and audience questionnaires.  Each new foursome guarantees a new set of hilarious and unexpected experiences lending a fun sense of improvisation to the performance.

One of the four volunteer spellers for each performance is a "Celebrity Speller" who will be called on stage to participate in the fun, and of course to S-P-E-L-L.
The Iowa State Center is happy to announce that Frank Monroe, (pictured) Morning Show Host at Capital 106.3, will be the celebrity speller at Stephens Auditorium.
