Recommended for grade levels 4 - 12

Jacob Harrison, newly appointed ISU Director of Orchestral Activities, leads the 80-member ISU Symphony Orchestra in a narrated program designed to educate and entertain young audiences. Feel the excitement of a full symphony orchestra, the emotions inspired by the music, and the power of teamwork. Learn about the instrument families of the orchestra and explore basic music concepts. This concert introduces students to orchestral repertoire played by talented ISU students from a wide variety of academic disciplines.

An instrument petting zoo following the performance is an opportunity to see and hear the unique sounds of individual instruments.

Supported by the Ames International Orchestra Festival Association
and Ames Commission on the Arts
