Introduce your students to the heart and soul of America’s greatest musical tradition – jazz. “Get Hip!” is an entertaining interactive multi-media introduction to jazz that illuminates its cultural origins, the concept of improvisation, and the function and responsibility of each individual component of the jazz ensemble. “Get Hip!” uses the ensemble as a vehicle to promote the value of community interaction, cooperation, teamwork, and self-expression. This high-energy production features original music, live narration, large screen projections, and audience participation.

The Metta Quintet is the official resident ensemble of JazzReach Performing Arts & Education Association, Inc. Based in New York City, they are a nationally recognized organization dedicated to the creation, teaching and performance of jazz music.
