“The Fire Service Training Bureau has been utilizing the Iowa State Center to conduct Fire Schools since 1974. We were one of the first groups to utilize
Hilton Coliseum after it opened and the first to have over 50 fire trucks and associated exhibit booths on the floor of Hilton Coliseum for our Summer Fire School. Since we are training fire service personnel in all aspects of fire and emergency operations, we have asked for some pretty bazaar things. Not only
do we utilize every room in the Scheman Building, but also the parking lots
and grassy areas around the Center. We have had as many as eight
"hands-on" classes going on at the same time in the parking lots. We take training fire fighters and officers very seriously and the Iowa State Center provides me with outstanding service and professionalism so that I can focus on the big picture and provide top-notch training for our attendees. When asked for something out of the ordinary, the Center staff responds with a smile
and ‘we can make that work’ attitude. They are always looking for ways, and offering suggestions
to make my conferences better. No matter if we hold a meeting with one subject, a weekend series
of 3-4 classes, or our Summer and Winter Fire Schools with over 30 classes each—we appreciate the facilities and staff of the Iowa State Center.”
